Sailing on Sydney Harbour

Generally schools participate in one session per week with us. Some schools like to focus purely on sailing so that the students can progress in their skills over the term. Other schools prefer more of a 'taster' programme where the students swap activities each week, alternating between catamaran sailing, dinghy sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and paddle boarding.

Our school watersports programme is an excellent opportunity for kids to learn new skills, increase their knowledge of the weather and the ocean, work as a team and it's an exciting change from the usual school sports!

We take children of all ages and have specific equipment for kids. The programmes include all equipment, buoyancy aids, wetsuits, and tuition by our experienced RYA & AYF instructors. There are also hot showers and changing rooms available. All our school watersports programmes are run by experienced RYA and AYF sailing and windsurfing instructors.

We can organize a session that suits you:

Group sessions can run from 2 hours to an all day event depending on what you want. Our most popular package usually runs for 2 hours and concentrates on just one watersport. Our qualified instructors will be on hand to give tuition, hints and general help.

Taster session

These water confidence sessions get the group used to modern personal watersports equipment and working as a team, while fun is had by all. Groups undertake a range of water-based activities, including sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, paddle surfing, tasks, practical initiative tests and challenges. These half-day or full-day sessions are ideal for schools on a tight budget and will prove an instant and memorable hit with every group member.

Day groups

At balmoral we offer a choice of half-day and full-day, one session per week activities designed to inspire and motivate all members of your group. Whatever the activity, groups inevitably have to work together, helping them learn to interact better with both teachers and other group members.

Watersprots days

Day grouops can choose an inspiring one-day introduction to any of our core Watersports. Thanks to modern technology , these exciting sports are accessible and easy to master, with the right equipment that easy to use and our or  experienced instructors , balmoral can manage your group progression, from entry level right through to advanced skills.

Safety comes first with us in all our procedures. We consider radio communication to be essential for safety, and all our staff & safety boats are linked together to our office by radio. We are proud of the level of safety within the organization, but never complacent. We are inspected from external authorities regularly.  This includes NSW Maritime ( HD0403) and Australian Yachting Federation, UKRoyal Yachting Association and Flying Fish instructional training.
