Teenage Lessons

School Holidays

13-17 year olds

We organise a specially tailor-made watersports programme for teenagers during our Kids Camp. From our experience, teenagers like to have a lot of flexibility and so offer this to them. We split them into a different group from the younger kids and allow them to have more say (up to a certain extent!) on which watersports they want to improve on and particularly enjoy doing. Their programme is more structured too so that they can really learn and improve their watersports skills but we also keep the fun involved.

We have various equipment for teenagers to try including our laser pico's, paddle boarding, kayaking and hobie cats which always prove very popular! Windsurf equipment varies from beginners' to more advanced kit using harnesses depending on each person's level of ability. Lots of games and challenges are involved to so that the teens learn to work well within a team and practice their leadership skills. It is also an excellent opportunity to make new friends.

By the end of the week, the teens are usually out and about on the boats on their own having learnt how to tack, gybe, capsize, man overboard drills, the 5 essentials, sailing in pairs having a go at both crewing and helming and much much more!

This includes NSW Maritime ( HD0403) and Australian Yachting Federation, UKRoyal Yachting Association and Flying Fish instructional training.

The best selection of craft

Balmorals fleet of dinghies, windsurfers, kayaks and paddle surf boards, has been carefully selected to maximize the enjoyment of learning new skills in a safe controlled environment.
