Taking sailing to the next level:
Our junior sailing squad is an excellent opportunity for kids to learn & improve upon their sailing skills & techniques. The perfect next step for kids who enjoyed our Holiday Kids Camp, the squadtraining follows a more structured learning programme, which allows the kids to progress their sailing skills both on and off the water.
What happens at squad?
The programme is designed with 2½ hours instruction each week over a period of seven weeks (for kids aged between 7 and 16). Each week, the kids will have a short session of theory and land drills, as well as plenty of time on the water to improve their practical skills so that they become competent and confident dinghy sailors.
The emphasis of the course is not only for the kids to improve their dinghy sailing ability but also to have fun while they sailing. We include many games, challenges and races in order to make their sailing time an enjoyable experience. Groups are also limited in size so that your kids get the most out of their instruction.
What do the kids learn?
Included in the tuition is tacking, gybing, capsizing, man overboard, sailing around a triangular course, racing tactics, rules of the road, the 5 essentials, sailing with a jib, water safety, rigging according to conditions, weather and much more!
